There are two main types of scars: hypertrophic and atrophic scars.
Hypertrophic scars usually result from surgical interventions, while atrophic scars can occur due to traumatic tissue injuries.
It is estimated that 4.5 to 16% of the population has some form of scars, which can lead to a lack of self-confidence and limited mobility, causing itching, pain, or a disturbance in the sense of touch. Considering these issues, scar treatment becomes an essential step towards restoring the normal appearance and functionality of the skin.
One of the safe and minimally invasive procedures for scar removal is laser treatment. This technique uses a laser to create microscopic wounds deep within the skin, promoting rapid renewal of the skin’s surface layer. Deeper dermal zones treated with the laser stimulate the production of entirely new collagen fibers, resulting in excellent results in scar removal and simultaneous tightening of the treated skin. The treatments are virtually painless, with transient edema and/or erythema as possible reactions, which last a few days.
The Vbeam laser is used to heat the middle layer of the skin, promoting circulation and the production of new collagen. This treatment improves the skin’s structure, reduces redness, and can also be applied to keloid scars.
