Laser stretch mark removal – Effective treatments for smooth skin.
This method is recommended for all ages. To achieve the best results, it is recommended to start treatments as early as possible, but older changes can also be successfully treated.
Stretch marks occur when the skin is stretched too quickly or excessively, damaging the collagen and elastic fibers of the skin’s connective tissue. Typically, stretch marks most commonly appear during rapid growth in puberty and often occur on the breasts, abdomen, hips, and buttocks. Initially, stretch marks have a red-purple color (striae rubra), but over time, they fade and become pearly-white (striae alba).
There are several methods for laser stretch mark removal:
a) Vbeam Laser is recommended for treating fresh, red stretch marks. This treatment helps reduce the redness and narrow the stretch marks to better blend with the surrounding skin. It is important to note that complete removal of stretch marks cannot be expected, but their visibility can be significantly reduced after 2-4 treatments with intervals of 4-6 weeks.
b) Fractional laser (SP Dynamis Er:YAG) is the method of choice for treating older stretch marks. This treatment improves the appearance of the skin and stimulates the formation of new collagen fibers over the next 3-5 months. After the treatment, mild redness and slight peeling of the skin may be noticed within 4-8 days. The effects gradually improve, resulting in shallower, narrower, and less visible stretch marks that blend with the color of the surrounding skin. Typically, 2-3 treatments are needed, with intervals of 4-8 weeks.
